The reformer looks scary. We promise it’s the best hour of your week.
Reformer, Barre, Mat and Semi-Private Pilates in St Ives, on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Over 21 years in, and still the friendliest room you’ll ever work that hard in.
It’s called Village for a reason.
Not sure where to start? That makes you normal.
Reformer, Barre, Mat, Semi-Private. It’s a lot of words when you’ve never tried any of them. Answer six quick questions and we’ll point you at the right class. No guesswork, no hovering awkwardly by the door.
Over 21 years. Still the best hour of a lot of people’s week.
We’ve taught Pilates in St Ives for over 21 years, long enough to know the people who stick with it aren’t doing it for the abs. They do it for how they feel walking out. Our members come from across the Upper North Shore and the Northern Beaches, from Pymble and Gordon to Wahroonga and Turramurra.
Expert teaching, and classes built around your actual body. Plus a room full of people who notice when you go missing for a week. That’s the Village bit, and we meant it when we named the place.
Don’t take our word for it.
Some of our members have been with us over a decade. Here’s why they keep booking.
I would absolutely recommend Village Pilates to everyone and anyone who wants to build / work on their toning, strength, balance, well being and overall fitness. Lisa and the team are all amazing instructors who really do care and give their heart and soul into every class.

Most Personal

Best for a Fresh Start

Our Classes
Reformer, Mat, Barre, Dance and Semi-Private Pilates, taught in our St Ives studio for every level. Something for the day you feel unstoppable and the day you very much don’t.
Semi-Private
Small groups, max four, every session shaped around you. The pick for working around an injury or finally cracking the hard stuff.
Reformer Pilates
The famous sliding carriage. A full-body workout for core strength and posture, turned up or down to wherever you’re at. All levels welcome.
Mat Pilates
Strength from the floor up, with bands, weights and the odd prop you’ll learn to love and resent. Brilliant for posture and body awareness.
Barre
Ballet, yoga and Pilates rolled into one. You’ll tone everything and feel unexpectedly graceful doing it.
Dance
High-energy, no experience required, absolutely no judgment. Turn up and move.

Questions? Of course you do.
New to Pilates, or just new to us? The FAQs cover the lot: what to wear, how often to come, and the difference between a group class and a semi-private.
If you’re new to Pilates, a great first step is to take our Pilates Quiz! It’s designed to match you with the perfect class options based on your fitness level and goals. Once completed, it will recommend the best option for you.
Bring a towel, water bottle, wear comfortable exercise clothing and clean grip socks. Specific pilates grip socks are available for purchase.
Ideally, we recommend at least 2-3 visits per week but understand this isn’t possible for everyone. As with everything, the more you practice, the more you’ll get out of it.
A group class is not tailored to individual needs. However, we do aim for variation from class to class and offer general modifications to suit different abilities where possible.
A semi-private class is a personalised exercise session tailored specifically to your needs and goals with a maximum of 4 clients per instructor. The sessions incorporate a variety of traditional pilates equipment such as the reformer, high barrel, trap table and spine corrector. Please note, we only offer ‘Private’ (1:1) sessions on request or for initial consultations.
